About me.
This is my story…
Following graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point and commissioning as an Infantry Officer in 2008 I served on active duty for 8+ years. After completion of a successful Light Infantry Company Command at Ft. Campbell, KY, I decided to take the path less traveled to the profession of dentistry. I departed Active duty in September of 2016 to pursue dental school by taking 1 year of prerequisite classes.
In 2017 I submitted my dental school applications. Facing the fact that I may not get accepted due to my low undergraduate GPA, I accepted a job at Google inc. as a Program Manager. I was interviewed and was accepted to multiple schools in December 2017 scheduled to start summer of 2018. In June of 2018 I left Google to pursue Dental School.
This is definitely the path less traveled, but if this is your passion, FOLLOW IT, and don’t let Battalion/Brigade Commanders sway your decisions.
As I often mention, I have not made all the right decisions but I have learned an invaluable amount of information from choosing schools, networking, applying, and how to pay for school and would love to pass this information on to future health care providers.
